Multiple Teams · JV Clovers Defeat Southmont in First Game of the Season

The JV Clovers started the season with a 25-24, 25-19 sweep of the Mounties of Southmont. Scrappy defense and timely serving paced the Clovers from start to finish. In game one the Mounties had a 23-20 lead after a Cloverdale timeout. Maci Jones serves three straight points, including two aces, to knot it up at 23. A Mountie kill puts the visitors up 24-23 but a net call gives the Clovers the final serve tied at 24. Skylynne Lowe steps back to the serving line and aces the Mounties to clinch game 1 for the Clovers 25-24.

In game two, the Clovers established control of the set after giving an early lead to the Mounties with a handful of service errors. Kassie Wade, Skylynne Lowe, and Haley Smith lead the Clovers with four kills each. Kaci Shedron had eight assists and Autumn Lewellen had twelve digs to steady the Clover defense.

Next match is Tomorrow at home against the Warriors of Danville.
